Long story short…:
“My own career has been shaped by international agricultural experience. I have worked and studied across Europe, North America and South America, gaining hands-on experience in crop production, crop protection, agricultural research, farm management and sustainable agriculture.
I also started my own international agricultural journey through a similar type of professional exchange program. That experience showed me how much can be gained from spending time on a farm in another country — not only technically, but professionally and personally.
Learning alongside farmers and agricultural professionals in a different country gave me something that a classroom cannot provide. I experienced different production systems, technologies, climates, business models and approaches to agriculture. I also learned how to work with people from different cultures and adapt to completely new environments.
South America became a particularly important part of my journey. Through my professional experience in the region, I have developed a deep understanding of South American agriculture and its enormous diversity.
So essentially, it all began with my own experience of discovering how much we can learn when we step outside our familiar agricultural environment.
I created AGPEX to bring two worlds together: Agricultural students, graduates and young professionals who have the opportunity to gain valuable international experience while discovering new agricultural systems and cultures. South American farms and agricultural businesses who can gain access to motivated international talent and new perspectives. AGPEX is the connection between them.
